Minister speaks on Shoprite packaging scandal
The Minister for Environment, Food and Agriculture says an outcry over mis-labelled meat is being taken 'seriously'.
Island chain Shoprite came under fire this week, after claims it passed off imported meat products as Manx.
The supermarket blamed 'human error' for the blunder.
Richard Ronan says DEFA is working alongside Shoprite and the Manx National Farmers' Union - who initially made the complaint - to resolve the matter.
In a statement, he added that Shoprite 'remains the biggest supporter of Manx meat' and other local produce.
