Former social worker says 'consistent failures' over person information are still happening
An MLC says it's hard to believe there are still 'consistent failures' when it comes to information sharing in relation to safeguarding.
New safeguarding laws which would make it clearer when agencies can share personal information completed the final stage in the Legislative Council last week.
Kirstie Morphet, who had a career as a social worker prior to entering politics, believes the risk of breaching confidentiality remains a concern for those who come into contact with vulnerable people.
But, she says having guidance written into legislation is beneficial:
