MLC queries 'influx' of 50+ residents before disincentives are introduced

Craine raises concerns at Population Rebalancing Committee

An MLC has queried whether the Isle of Man could see an ‘influx’ of people moving to the Island before potential ‘disincentives’ are introduced.

It follows government’s pledge to raise the number of economically active people on the Island by 2037.

As part of the new 15-year economic strategy both incentives and disincentives will be considered.

Paul Craine raised the issue with the Cabinet Office Minister Kate Lord-Brennan at the Population Rebalancing Committee yesterday (26 July):
