MLC questions who monitors Covid mask exemptions

Chief Minister admits it's a 'long-standing' question

An MLC is questioning who judges whether someone has a 'reasonable exemption' not to wear a face covering.

Marlene Maska says in light of new Covid-19 rules, which make mask wearing mandatory in some settings, she's concerned there could be conflict.

Yesterday Tynwald voted to make mask wearing a legal requirement on public transport and in health and care settings – unless you have an exemption.
