Tanya August-Hanson seeking leave to introduce bill
A member of the Legislative Council is seeking permission to bring forward a bill which would update the Isle of Man's laws in relation to fertilisation, embryology and surrogacy.
Tanya August-Hanson will ask her LegCo colleagues to support the move when they meet on Tuesday morning at 10:30.
If approved, it would also make new provision about the people who, in certain circumstances, are to be treated as the parents of a child.
This would see changes to the Civil Registration Act 1984 in relation to registering births.
