It was announced late last month that service would cease
Manx National Heritage (MNH) is working on an 'interim solution' to preserve its online newspaper archive.
Late last month, the organisation announced the iMuseum.im system would be ceasing on Monday, 12 October due to its software and infrastructure reaching the end of its operational life.
But MNH now states that it's in a position to attempt to put in an interim plan which will allow the service to remain beyond tomorrow 'while work continues on the longer-term solution.'
However, Manx National Heritage warns it cannot guarantee this plan will be successful but hopes, if all goes as intended, it will allow access to the service on a temporary basis whilst the longer-term system is worked on.
To allow the current work to take place, the newspaper archive server will be taken offline 'for extended periods' between 10.30am and 4pm tomorrow (12 October).
MNH adds it remains 'fully committed to providing a sustainable, secure and affordable long-term future for the service.'
