Roads now open again
A controlled explosion has been carried out in Ramsey to dispose of an old World War II mortar bomb (3 March).
A Royal Navy bomb disposal team from the UK was called in after the high explosive mortar round was unearthed yesterday on Mooragh Promenade.
It was found by workers at the Iris sewerage scheme site who suspected a bomb and raised the alarm.
The area was cordoned off for safety and two local houses evacuated overnight.
Police say all roads and pathways have now been opened.
