More Covid-19 jabs to be offered on Island

Spring booster campaign to get underway in April

More Covid-19 booster jabs will be given to people on the Isle of Man next month.

Manx Care is starting its spring booster campaign.

From 15 April to 30 June people aged 75 and over, residents in care homes and people who are immunosuppressed can get another vaccine.

They’ll be delivered from Summerhill View Care Home on Victoria Road in Douglas instead of the vaccination hub at Chester Street in Douglas.

A limited number of appointments will also be available from sites in the north, south and west of the Island.

Interim Medical Director Dr Marina Hudson said: "The spring booster allows those who are at risk of severe COVID-19 to maintain their protection and will enable those who are most vulnerable to remain protected through the summer months.

"Vaccination remains our best protection against severe COVID-19 and hospitalisation.

"I would encourage anyone who is invited for their vaccination to take up the offer."

Letters and emails will be sent to people eligible for the mRNA jab.
