More local focus for shoppers

Buyers seeking out Manx produce

A survey of Manx consumers has found an overwhelming majority seek out local produce, in spite of cheaper or easier alternatives.

The research was commissioned by the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture - it's seeking to grow the Island's food and drink industry by £50 million.

Data from the survey suggests quality, freshness and a 'buy local' attitude are increasingly greater factors for shoppers, compared to the last decade.
