DHA says incidents can't definitively be attributed to steam train
More than 50 hours have been spent fighting fires next the Steam Railway tracks so far this year.
The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service has been called out to 33 separate incidents on or adjacent to the railway lines since January.
The Department of Home Affairs says these incidents can't be definitively attributed to the railway, and that firefighters have worked with the railway to reduce the impact of fires over a number of years.
The 52 hours spent tackling the fires has cost £11,165.
