Owners welcome 60s car on charity trek

An iconic car's charity marathon will drop into the Isle of Man today (4 Sept).

Enthusiasts from the Morris Minor Owners' Club are raising funds for Marie Curie cancer care, and visiting the Island as part of a John O’Groats to Land’s End tour.

A standard 1962 Morris Minor saloon is taking the scenic route - a 3,000 mile journey criss-crossing Britain to visit every branch of the club and locations with links to the car.

With 75 stops planned, the fundraiser is marking the club’s 40th anniversary.

The charity car will arrive in the Island at lunchtime, transport costs being met by the Steam Packet Company and Wades Truck Services.

Island Morris Minor owners are hosting an event at B&Q car park on Spring Valley industrial estate today until 4pm.
