Six week closure in place
Extensive work to repair and improve the Mountain Road will get underway this morning.
The route is being closed entirely between Ramsey and the Bungalow for six weeks, from 9am.
The Department of Infrastructure admits it's working under a 'tight' timeframe to get the work completed by TT.
Major work will take place at Stella Maris, below Ramsey Hairpin, to fully reconstruct the highway and footpath.
Other works – including line painting, surface repairs, verge maintenance and the installation of TT signage - is also being carried out at the same time.
Gary Saunders is the construction manager:
Ramsey Town Commissioners and Manx Telecom have joined forces to help people work remotely whilst the road closure is in place.
