MT clearSound used by new UK mobile network

Isle of Man-developed technology makes calls easier to hear

A new mobile network launching in the UK today is using technology developed on the Isle of Man to help those with hearing loss.

The Audacious network will use Manx Telecom's clearSound to make calls easier to hear for its customers.

Audacious comes just short of a year after Manx Telecom made clearSound available to its customers on the Isle of Man.

MT customers were the first in the world to use the platform, but UK-wide mobile users can now take a free online test to see if it suits them, before signing up with Audacious.

The development is the first medically certified technology to personalise calls to match the user's hearing profile, allowing voices to be heard more easily.

Former England rugby union international Ben Cohen MBE, who experiences hearing loss, is endorsing the new network, and described Audacious as a "game changer".
