Around 8,000 homes to make switch
If you're one of the 8,000 Manx Utilities customers who top up their electricity via a key meter, big changes should be in place by summer next year.
The MUA intends to have them replaced with new smart meters by then.
It will mean an end to having to go to a shop to top up, with you being able to do it online instead.
There will still be an alternative method, though, for those who can't, or don't want to do it that way, as Manx Utilities Chair Dr Alex Allinson MHK explains:
