Mum raises money to thank neonatal unit after difficult birth

Gemma & Thalia take on step challenge to raise funds

‚ÄčA new mum has pounded the pavements to say ‘thank you' to the medical staff that supported her through her difficult birth.

Gemma Lloyd-Jones has handed over more than £800 for the neonatal unit at Noble’s Hospital after walking 10,000 steps every day for six weeks.

Her daughter Thalia was born via emergency C-section - her placenta was small which can lead to complications during the birth.

Gemma says she was keen to do something to pay tribute to the staff who'd helped her:
