Barry Kennedy will take over from Phil Gawne
Arbory and Rushen Commissioners has appointed a new clerk.
Barry Kennedy, who is the existing clerk at Santon and Jurby Commissioners, will take over from Phil Gawne who is retiring from the position at the end of March.
Chair of Arbory and Rushen Parish Commissioners Kirrie Jenkins says Mr Kennedy will bring 'considerable experience' of local government to the board.
She added: "The commissioners are very pleased to welcome Barry Kennedy as our new clerk.
"We look forward to working with him to support the parish and its residents.
"On behalf of all of the board of commissioners I would also like to thank Phil Gawne for his service and commitment to Arbory and Rushen and wish him well in his retirement."
Mr Kennedy will relinquish his position in Jurby when he takes on his new role in Arbory and Rushen.
He said: "I am delighted to have been chosen to serve as clerk and responsible finance officer for the parish of Arbory and Rushen.
"Following in Phil Gawne’s footsteps will assure my dedication to continue his good work in supporting the chair and commissioners to the benefit of the parish and its inhabitants."
