Long-serving advocate takes up post

A long-serving Manx advocate has been officially sworn-in as the Island's new Deputy High Bailiff.

Christopher Arrowsmith took the Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Deputy High Bailiff in a ceremony at Government House.

He takes over the role from Jayne Hughes, who was named High Bailiff earlier this year.

Mr Arrowsmith was admitted to the Manx Bar in 1993, and previously held the role of Head of Dispute Resolution at Simcocks Advocates.
