
The Isle of Man will have a new director of education as of Easter.
Geoff Moorcroft will take over from Martin Barrow, who’s retiring after a 36-year career.
Mr Moorcroft studied at Keele and Manchester Universities and moved to the Isle of Man in 1989 to teach at Rushen School.
He became deputy head at Scoill Phurt le Moirrey when it opened 20 years ago, before becoming headteacher.
Since 2012, he’s been the Co-ordinating Adviser for Primary Education in the education department.
