New laws could soon mean all election candidates will have to tell the public who has been backing their campaign, before the polls open.
In the House of Keys this week, Chief Minister Tony Brown steered new legislation, designed to change the way Manx elections are run, through its first reading.
Top of the list are spending limits and requirements for candidates to declare who has been giving money to their campaign.
Mr Brown says the system will ensure voters know where their candidates' funds have been coming from:
Vote on Castle Rushen High School funding 'very unlikely' before election
Ramsey Commissioners to host public meeting about cottage hospital
DfE provided more than £250,000 to MT to assist with below ground fibre installations
Man given suspended sentence after importing 2kg of cannabis to Island
