The DHSS's new Director of Finance believes his biggest challenge is to rein in departmental spending over the next twelve months.
Simon Jackson says there have been overspends on more than one occasion in the last few years and financial balance needs to be restored, but not to the detriment of services.
The DHSS has a gross revenue expenditure budget is nearly £395 million, about four times larger than the next government department.
And Mr Jackson says there are one or two new measures being introduced to make sure that figure is kept within:
Petitioner moving because of parking problems
Farming body 'shocked' by non executive fee increase at meat plant
Keys to hear wind farm statement
Artist and UCM alumni flying the Manx flag in fashion and film
