
The new 'number two' in the Island's Fire and Rescue Service has made keeping the community safe his goal for the future.
Kevin Groom, who's 46, has been appointed Deputy Chief Fire Officer having progressed through the ranks over a quarter of a century.
Mr Groom (pictured) also aims to continue promoting the work of the fire prevention team.
He says he has the right attributes and experience to take a lead role in the service:
