New health care strategy to be discussed

Care staff will have their say tomorrow on the controversial change of policy over how elderly people are looked after in the Isle of Man.

Health Minister Eddie Teare's decision to stop new admissions to three long-stay residential homes has polarised opinion.

Critics say plans to provide more care in the community will not replace what will be lost and a full meeting of Whitley Council, which represents public sector employers and staff, will discuss the issue tomorrow.
