Ramsey MHK Anne Craine says the sod cutting ceremony for a new hotel on Mooragh promenade marks a red letter day for the town.
The facility is being developed by Island-based entrepreneur Trevor Hemmings, and will fill the gap left following the closure of the Grand Island, which is being demolished.
The new hotel is expected to take a year to complete, and Mrs Craine says it should be a real catalyst for the town (play audio file):
