New Lieutenant Governor to be sworn in

Road closures in place around Castletown

The Isle of Man's new Lieutenant Governor will be sworn into office inside Castle Rushen this afternoon.

Sir John Lorimer has been on the Island since Monday and today will become The Queen's representative on Mann.

The area around the ceremony will be affected by road closures.

A series of restrictions will come into force in Castletown from 1pm.

Castle Quay will be closed to vehicles from its junction with Bank Street to Castle Street, which will be shut along its entire length.

As will Parliament Square, George Lane, Market Square and Malew Street - between its junctions with Arbory Street and Bank Street.

The new Lieutenant Governor will be sworn in at around 3pm and the restrictions on the roads lifted at 4pm.
