Development consent order accepted by UK government
The company behind plans for a 480 Megawatt windfarm in Morecambe Bay, 59 kilometres from the Isle of Man, has had its Development Consent Order accepted by the UK government.
Morecambe Offshore Windfarm Limited says the electricity generated would provide renewable power for around half a million homes in the UK.
Details of the application will be available for viewing at the Henry Bloom Library in Douglas and the Ramsey Town Hall.
Earlier in the process the Steam Packet company expressed concerns that the presence of the windfarm could extend journey times between the Island and Heysham.
