Dan Clague is a descendent of the owner of John Clague & Son Ltd
The successor to Lars Ugland as chairman of the Steam Packet Company has been named.
Dan Clague has been appointed to sit alongside the six other board members.
Mr Clague, who is currently based in London, has extensive experience in both passenger ferry operations and finance during a career spanning more than 40 years.
Mr Clague is a descendent of the owner of John Clague & Son Ltd, an iron foundry business in Ramsey.
He cut his teeth in Liverpool as a ship agent with Ocean Group plc and then moved with Ocean to work in liner/roro shipping and container terminal management in the US and West Africa.
Following an MBA from London Business School, he joined Baring Brothers rising to Director in the Mergers & Acquisitions department and now has over three decades of experience in corporate finance advisory services.
He holds a BA in English from Keble College, Oxford.
