New Year dips have been taking place around the Island - although the atrocious weather did cause some problems.
103 dippers took the plunge in Douglas at midday for Breakthrough Breast Cancer -watched over by coastguards - and those in Laxey braved the briny at the same time.
There was a good turnout in Peel despite the heavy rain and wind.
Chris Williams was at Peel seafront to watch this year's hardy band brave the elements in aid of a multiple sclerosis charity, the RNLI and the workshop for the disabled.
Earlier the Ramsey dip had to be cancelled because of the conditions there - that was on the advice of the coastguard. But the traditional dip in Castletown took place albeit in the middle harbour due to the weather.
Other dips took place in the west and south, raising money for several good causes including Hospice Isle of Man.
