First dip at 10am
Residents will brave a longstanding tradition this morning, and midday today (Mon 1st) by running into the sea.
'New Year's Dips' take place on several beaches around the Island, all for good causes.
Chapel Beach in Port St Mary hosts the first dip at 10am, followed by the inner harbour at 10:45am.
In the north, Ramsey's dip gets underway at 11am outside the lifeboat station on South Promenade, with registration open from 10am.
Castletown dippers will also take the plunge at 11am.
The Douglas dip takes place at 11:30am from Queen's Promenade - this year, funds will be raised for Breast Cancer, also at 11:30am; another southern dip at Gansey Bay.
Laxey will follow suit at midday. Meanwhile there will also be a big crowd in Peel, which has held a dip since 1983.
This year, funds will be raised for the Peel Lifeboat, Multiple Sclerosis and the Isle of Man Hyperbaric Chamber.
The money raised from last year's dip in Peel amounted to almost £3,500, a huge growth from four dippers raising £50 at the event's inaugauration - over £100,000 has been raised over the event's history.
The final dips will be held in Port Erin and Kirk Michael at 12:15pm.
