NHS survey endorses Island health

The Department of Health says 96 per cent of the Island is happy with the level of care it has had from the health service.

A survey of patients was carried out by the department last November, asking whether they had confidence in the professional caring for them, as well as if they felt listened to and cared for.

800 patients were quizzed across a range of services, including community nursing, the Manx Emergency Doctor Service, Prison Health Care and Ramsey Cottage Hospital outpatients.

Health Minister David Anderson says staff can be very proud of the results which show the vast majority of patients are happy with the care they receive.

He added certain areas have been highlighted for improvement and work is already underway to address problems.
