No-deal Brexit 'could provide opportunity' for Manx cheese producers

Creamery director discusses potential tariffs

A no-deal Brexit 'could provide opportunities' for Manx cheese producers.

That scenario which could see tariffs of up to £170 per ton of cheddar exported to the European Market.

Managing Director of Isle of Man Creamery Findlay Macleod says reciprocal tariffs on imported cheese, however, could open up more of the UK market to British producers:

"I don't think Brexit is going to be a complete disaster by any stretch of the imagination - if anything there'll be new opportunities opening up, in the UK in particular, that we can really exploit."
