'No evidence' Arron Banks and Leave.EU broke the law

Investigation into Island-based Rock Holdings chairman concludes

An investigation's concluded Brexit campaign group Leave.EU and the businessman Arron Banks didn't commit any criminal offences during the referendum campaign.

Mr Banks is the chairman of the Manx-based Rock Holdings Group.

Both Mr Banks and Leave.EU were referred to the National Crime Agency by the Electoral Commission over claims of wrongdoing relating to £8 million of loans.

Mr Banks says he is now considering action against the elections watchdog.

Tweeting after the ruling, Mr Banks said: "Victory is sweet."

In November last year BBC's Newsnight visited the Island to investigated Rock Holdings' purported involvement in the Brexit campaign.
