Meeting due to be held with residents, families and staff

Manx Care says no 'final decisions' have been made about whether patients with dementia will be moved from a specialist facility in Ramsey.

It follows concerns raised to Manx Radio by the families of residents from the Reayrt Skyal residential care home.

They’re seeking clarity after suggestions that their loved ones may be relocated possibly so that a rehabilitation ward can be set-up instead.

Manx Care has confirmed it will be holding a meeting with families ‘in the coming days’ specifically to discuss these matters.

In a statement provided to Manx Radio it said: "We have arranged a meeting with families in the coming days specifically to discuss these matters, listen to their views and provide accurate information about the options under consideration.

"It would not be appropriate to respond to speculation or partial information through the media before those conversations have taken place.

"No final decisions have been made.

"Our priority is to engage directly and respectfully with residents, families and staff and we remain committed to keeping them informed throughout the process."

Manx Radio has also invited the Department of Health and Social Care to respond.
