Environment minister clarifies what exercise people can do

The police have been made aware of an increase in the amount of people trying to visit other households, according to the environment minister.

Speaking at yesterday's government media briefing, Geoffrey Boot assured people that though there have been recent changes to lockdown measures, social distancing must be maintained:

After receiving numerous calls from the public about what they are and aren't allowed to do now that lockdown measures have been eased slightly, Mr Boot went on to outline some of the activities that can be done within the government guidelines.

He says only non-competitive sports with family members are okay, although fishing is not:

However, Chief Constable Gary Roberts has since clarified that only licensed fishing in reservoirs and rivers is prohibited, with recreational fishing from piers and beaches remaining legal.
