Michelle Haywood says options are still being explored as calls continue for the withdrawn route to be reinstated
The infrastructure minister says no formal discussions have yet taken place with local authorities about financial support for reinstating the Cregneash bus service.
Michelle Haywood told the House of Keys that while there have been ongoing conversations within government about how the route could be funded, no agreement has been reached.
The service was withdrawn last year because of concerns it wasn't ‘financially viable’, sparking backlash from residents and the tourism sector.
In a previous interview, the minister indicated support for bringing the route back.
Mrs Haywood says her department is now reviewing the costs and feasibility of reinstating the service, including staffing and bus availability.
However, she admitted she does not yet know how long it will take before a solution can be implemented:
