No laws surrounding feral goat shooting

Daphne Caine MHK sought response on wild goat problem in Garff

The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture has no powers to control wild goats on the Island.

The issue of the feral goats who live around Garff was raised in Tynwald this morning by the local MHK Daphne Caine.

Minister Geoffrey Boot said the animals weren't protected by law and could be culled by private landowners who had an issue with them on their land.

But Mr Boot said his department didn't see the feral goats as being of any particular concern
