No need to worry about census forms

The Census Office is reassuring members of the public their forms will be collected before April 10.

Manager Gemma Mylchreest says there have been a high number of calls from people wanting to know when they will be picked up.

The front page of the census form explains collection will be during the week following census night, but doesn't specify a time or day.

It's the job of enumerators to pick up the forms during their collections rounds, but they will leave a stamped addressed if they don't make contact with the occupants after calling at a property a couple of times.

The census office says some people with genuine enquiries aren't able to get through on the phone because others are worrying about the collection.
