No new cases of TB at primary school

Tests have shown that none of the children who were screened for tuberculosis at Ashley Hill School after a case of the disease was diagnosed, has been infected.

The authorities say there is no need for further action or concern.

The programme aimed to screen all those considered to be at risk of picking up the infection and included teachers.

However, TB is not easily transmitted and the DHSS said all along it was unlikely the infection would be passed on.

A media release says two children are being tested separately.
