No plans to introduce 'circuit break' lockdown to tackle school issues

But should mitigation measures be mandatory?

Mitigation measures against Covid-19 will only be made mandatory if that's the will of the new administration.

That’s according to the director of public health.

Dr Henrietta Ewart has confirmed there are no plans to introduce a 'circuit break' style lockdown to tackle significant levels of absence in schools.

Instead the advice is to continue voluntary LFT tests, the wearing of face coverings and washing your hands. 

Dr Ewart told Manx Radio things could be reviewed once the new chief minister and Council of Ministers is in place:
