No sacred animals within Health Department

Services constantly reviewed to identify possible savings

Health Minister Howard Quayle says "there are no sacred animals" within his department when it comes to making savings.

He says with the loss of £200 million following the VAT adjustment several years ago, there is no extra cash for health and social care and they are constantly looking to make savings in order to continue providing a good service.

Mr Quayle says this doesn't necessarily mean cutting services, so much as reviewing how they are provided
