No staff sanctions were imposed, insists IoM Post

Post office chiefs have quashed suggestions that restrictions were imposed on staff  at Ramsey post office.

It’s been claimed workers were banned from speaking about the closure of the town’s office and planned relocation to a nearby Spar shop because they felt threatened by management.

Not so, says Isle of Man Post which insists staff were not banned from speaking at last week’s public meeting over the issue.

The company also says while employees are not allowed to talk to the media about post office matters without prior consent, any request from affected staff members to talk to the media would not be reasonably refused.

Last month, staff were reminded of their duties not to discuss any work related matters on social media.
