There is no word as yet on further action by Manx bus drivers.
Its suggested that the start of the school year, on January 7th, is being considered. Any action could go into the next day as well.
The three day strike last week, on the run-up to Christmas, created problems all round, with unions claiming support from the public for their actions.
In response, the Government threw their weight behind a concerted effort to keep the public and schools operating, using other drivers, the MER and the steam trains.
New action is expected to prompt a similar response.
The argument is over cuts proposed by the Department which will alter drivers pay and conditions. The Government say they have to slim the Department's budget by three hundred thousand pounds, as part of the general savings programme.
