Northern rates pegged for 2011 to 2012

Three local authorities in the north of the Island have frozen their rates for the coming financial year.

Ballaugh and Andreas rates will stay at 78p in the pound, and residents of Jurby will also be charged at the same level (79p) as in 2010 to 2011.

The Northern Refuse Board, which covers Ballaugh, Andreas, Bride, Jurby, Michael and Lezayre, says its rate will stay at 32p.

The fixed charge per dwelling is also unchanged, at £30.
