Enterprise minister says other options need to be looked at to support industry as a whole
It's not appropriate for government to provide individual support to those struggling in the hospitality sector, according to the enterprise minister.
Tim Johnston's been responding to warnings earlier this week that the industry is in 'crisis', and a 'call to arms' meeting of business owners yesterday (Thursday 18 April).
There have also been calls for an overhaul of VAT due to pressures with wage increases, recruitment and reduced footfall.
But Mr Johnston says government shouldn't help everyone:
