November dullest on record

No sunshine for half of month

It's official.

November 2015 was the dullest since sunshine levels were first recorded on the Island in 1948

There were just 36.6 hours of sunshine during the whole month . . . almost two hours less than the previous dullest recorded in 1958.

Half the days last month saw no sunshine at all.

The average temperature for the month was 10 Celsius .  . compared to the long term mean of 8.6C . . . making it the 4th mildest November on record with a temperature of 15.7 Celsius recorded overnight on the 9th. This was only beaten by 1st November 2007 which saw a figure of 16.2 C.

Rainfall was 46% higher than normal and there were six days with gales.
