NSC leisure pool shutting for two days next week

Issues with flume closed in December to be rectified

The leisure pool at the NSC will close for two days next week whilst issues with one of the flumes are addressed.

One of the new flumes there was shut in December after concerns were raised the exit from the affected slide wasn't as smooth as it should be.

Following an initial investigation last month, government has confirmed the company which installed the flumes will return to the Island on Wednesday, 9 February to resolve the issues identified.

As a result, the other fully-functioning flume and the leisure pool will shut on Wednesday and Thursday next week (9-10 February) whilst work is carried out.

They will then reopen again on the Friday (11 February).

All other facilities at the centre - including the main pool - will be open as normal during the repairs.

Education, Sport & Culture Minister, Julie Edge, says it's a difficult situation her department is trying to resolve as quickly as possible.

Ms Edge has apologised for any inconvenience this may cause.
