NUT looks at pay issues

Teachers in the Isle of Man could continue to get below inflation pay rises, but would not be drawn into a United Kingdom battle over pay.

The National Union of Teachers says the profession has suffered from a period of three years when pay rises have been below inflation, and Manx awards reflect those in the UK.

However, the union claims a pay review body may shortly recommend more of the same and if that happens, North West Regional Officer Martin Fisher says the NUT would look for a better deal (audio file attached):

Martin Fisher was speaking to Manx Radio during a visit to the Isle of Man .
