Off-Island staff sought due to 'low number' of local jobseekers

UK recruitment agent looking for security staff

An off-Island recruitment agency is advertising positions at the Isle of Man Airport due to the 'low number' of local jobseekers.

That's from the Department of Infrastructure after concerns were raised over an advert by Red Sky Personnel for temporary ground security operatives.

In a statement issued to Manx Radio the Isle of Man Government confirmed it's aware of the recruitment drive.

Staffing security at Ronaldsway has been contracted out to private firm Bidvest Noonan since 2019.

The DoI says recruitment remains challenging due to the low number of people currently looking for work on-Island.

It adds that posts have been continually advertised through the Job Centre locally over the last two years.
