Orsted and IoM Government finalising proposals for site to serve UK market
Building an offshore wind farm to serve the Isle of Man isn't a feasible economic proposition.
That's from Chief Minister Alfred Cannan as the government continues discussions with Danish energy firm Orsted.
Mr Cannan has confirmed Orsted's current proposals for a wind farm off the Island's coast would mainly serve the UK market, with Treasury still needing to finalise taxation and royalties.
He says such a facility to generate energy for the Island isn't financially viable:
