OFT defends Manx Gas price increases

'Rocket and feather' simile over tariffs

The chairman of the Office of Fair Trading says iminent Manx Gas tariff rises comply with the regulatory agreement.

It was announced this morning they'll rise by 3.5%, whilst there'll be a standing charge hike of 2.4%.

It's thought it'll cost the typical Manx Gas customer around £25 more per year.

Martyn Perkins says people are quick to react whenever news of a price rise emerges - but slower when prices drop
