Illegal to approach residents for unsolicited work in IoM
The Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading and police worked together to stop some gardeners from the UK approaching Manx residents to offer unsolicited work.
The company was investigated for going door to door seeking business.
Cold calling is illegal in the Isle of Man, meaning those who approach locals without a prior appointment are breaking the law.
OFT Chairman Martyn Perkins MHK says there are a couple of exceptions:
"Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital is not at risk of closure"
